Mzumbe University has received funding from the World Bank through the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MOEST) to carry out a project named “Higher Education for Economic Transformation” (HEET), which aims to increase access to higher education and improve the relevance and quality of programs in Higher Education Institutions. The main objective of the project is to give the university the capacity to actively participate in and contribute to the development and transformation of the nation’s economy by improving its capacity to increase access to higher education and raise the standard and applicability of its courses for the workforce.
One of the primary objectives of the HEET Project is to increase the university’s use of digital technologies. This section focuses on the effective deployment and use of digital tools for teaching and learning procedures, as well as administrative and support tasks. Specifically, the component ensures improved administrative, academic, and support services at the university are delivered digitally. Therefore, in order to fill a one-year contract in Tanzania, “Higher Education for Economic Transformation” (HEET) is seeking a talented, dynamic, experienced, and competent individual.
Open Positions and Description
1. Assistant Lecture (Human Resource Management)
- Possessor of a master’s degree in human resource management with a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0 and a first degree GPA of 3.8 out of 5.0 with a minimum dissertation grade of B+.
2. Assistant Lecture (Law) – 2 Posts
- Possessing a master’s degree in land law, information and communications technology law, environmental law, and competition law with a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0 and a first-degree GPA of at least 3.8 out of 5.0 with a minimum dissertation grade of B+.
3. Assistant Lecture (Statistics) – 2 Posts
- Possessor of a master’s degree in statistics with a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0 and a first-degree GPA of at least 3.8 out of 5.0, together with a dissertation with a minimum of B+.
4. Assistant Lecture (Economic Policy and Planning)
- Possessing a master’s degree in economic policy and planning with a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0, a first degree with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5.0, and a dissertation with a minimum grade of B+.
5. Assistant Lecture (Health Economics)
- Holder of a master’s degree in health economics with a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0 and a first-degree GPA of 3.8 out of 5.0 with a minimum dissertation grade of B+
6. Assistant Lecture (Epidemiology and Biostatistics)
- Possessing a master’s degree in epidemiology and biostatistics with a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0, a first degree with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5.0, and a dissertation with a minimum grade of B+.
7. Assistant Lecture (Environmental Management)
- Possessor of a master’s degree in geographic science with a focus on environmental management, integrated land/SOI management, geoinformation science, geographic information system and remote sensing, and natural resources; the degree required a minimum of a B+ in the dissertation and a minimum GPA of 4.0 out of 5.0 for the first degree.
8. Tutorial Assistant (Law)
- As a trainee position, the Tutorial Assistant must complete a Master’s degree training program and have a minimum GPA of 4.0.
