Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT)

As part of its mission to avoid lifetime disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT also provides comprehensive obstetric fistula repairs and other maternity and newborn healthcare (MNHC) services. Its Maternity and Newborn Wing acts as a referral hub for high-risk and urgent deliveries throughout Tanzania’s Eastern Zone and the Dar es Salaam region.

You serve as the organization’s primary point of contact for government relations in your capacity as Government & Public relations Manager. To further the goals and visibility of the CCBRT, you must establish and nurture relationships with public officials and other stakeholders as well as take part in advocacy and lobbying.

Open Positions and Description:

1. Government & Public Affairs Manager – 1 POST

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • a public relations, public administration, or related degree from an accredited university with at least 12 years of professional experience.
  • Having a master’s degree is beneficial.
  • demonstrated ability to communicate and bargain with the government and development partners.
  • A plus is having prior experience working in the health sector and with Public Private Partnerships (PPPs).
  • extensive familiarity with disability inclusion, policies pertaining to disability concerns, and processes and efforts linked to disability mainstreaming.
  • powerful advocacy abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities to establish connections with lawmakers and other public servants.
  • Proficient in both written and oral English and Kiswahili communication.
  • strong proficiency in computers.
  • proactive, imaginative, and intellectually curious lobbyist.

2. Resource Mobilisation Officer – 1 POST

You will draft concepts, expressions of interest, proposals, and replies to donor requests in your role as a resource mobilization officer. As the team’s leader, you will work together to create local and international materials or content that highlights the effect of CCBRT’s programs and positions the organization for future growth domestically, regionally, and internationally. To make sure that all interested parties are informed about the programs and effects of CCBRT, you will plan and work with local and international communications.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE’S

  • a degree in communication, international relations, development studies, or a similar discipline
  • two years minimum of experience working in a similar sector or program development
  • Working knowledge of international financing agencies and sources, such as USAID, EU, NORAD, FCDO, UN Agencies, Foundations, and Charities
  • strong ability to communicate in Swahili and English
  • a track record of success in drafting competitive proposals and managing grants
  • extremely competent with Microsoft Office
  • Proven track record of identifying possibilities and positioning their organization for new financing through a variety of aggressive techniques
  • Experienced in thinking creatively and beyond the box, with the ability to complete high-quality work on time.
