On September 25, 2015, Newala Town Council was founded in accordance with Sections 9 and 10 of the Local Government (Urban Authorities), 2002.
The Director of Newala Town Council announces job vacancies and invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the positions as listed in this announcement, following the issuance of the Alternative Employment Permit with Ref. No. FA.228/613/01/C/025 dated 20/05/2024 for the position of Office Operations Writer II and the Alternative Employment Permit with Ref. No. FA.228/613/01/C/004 dated 20/05/2024 for the position of Village Executive Officer III from the Secretary-General of the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance regarding new employment.
Open Positions and Description
1. Village Executive Officer III
Responsibilities:
- Holding the positions of chief executive and primary accountant for the village government
- Maintaining the village’s good government, keeping an eye on people’s property and security, and serving as a peacekeeper;
- Arranging and overseeing the creation and execution of plans for village development;
- Acting as the village council’s secretary for all sessions and committees;
- Interpreting and upholding rules, regulations, and guidelines;
- Creating work implementation reports and inspiring people to design and carry out plans to end hunger, combat poverty, and boost productivity;
- Directing the village’s technical department leaders;
- Overseeing, gathering, and keeping all village records and paperwork;
- Presiding over village technical sessions;
- Taking in, considering, and settling grievances and disputes from the public;
- Supervising the creation of village ordinances;
Qualifications:
- A Certificate (NTA LEVEL 5) in any of the following fields—Administration, Law, Social Education, Financial Management, Community Development, or Arts Science—from the Local Government Training Institute Hombolo or any other government-approved institution is required in order to be employed. Form Four or Form Six education is also required.
2. Office Operations Writer II
- Typing reports, letters, and other public and private papers;
- Welcoming guests, attending to their needs, and pointing them in the direction of the right help;
- Keeping track of appointments, events, dates of meetings, the supervisor’s travel plans, and other work schedules;
- Looking for the files and documentation required to complete the task
- Obtaining and delivering files to officials in the concerned department, unit, or section;
- Gathering, keeping, and delivering files and papers to the appropriate places;
- Creating summaries and scheduling different meetings;
- Making a list of necessary office supply purchases;
- Carrying out additional tasks that the supervisor assigns.
In order to be hired, candidates must be graduates of Form Four (Form Four) or Form Six (Form Six) schools, possess a Diploma (NTA level 6) in Secretarial Studies, be proficient in office computer programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher, and have passed shorthand tests in both Swahili and English at a speed of 100 words per minute.
SALARY: Based on the monthly Government Salary Scale, TGS C.
