The maintenance and development of Tanzania’s trunk and regional road networks falls under the purview of the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS). It is also in charge of employing weighbridge scales to carry out axle load control operations.
On behalf of the Chief Executive of TANROADS, the Regional Manager Lindi of TANROADS is seeking Tanzanians who meet the necessary qualifications and are capable of filling open positions for the project of Bitumen Standardization of Nachingwea – Ruangwa – Nanganga Road (106km); Loti: Ruangwa – Nanganga Section (57.6km); Contract No. TRD/HQ/1012/2023/2024.
Open Positions and Description
1. Senior Engineer (Highway Engineer)
- To ensure that the terms and specifications of the contract are being followed.
- To examine the current design, find any flaws, and provide the resident engineer with the necessary advice while the project is being built.
- To discover and identify all milestones and beacons so that the contractor can plan and execute the construction.
- to verify adherence to technical specification requirements by inspecting finished work.
- To create a project master schedule with control charts of the primary tasks that show historical performance as well as completion estimates that include the amount of time needed in each scenario.
- Must be a citizen of Tanzania, possess a bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: transportation, highway, or civil engineering, or have earned an equivalent degree from an accredited institution, and have worked in a relevant sector for at least seven (7) years. must have a Professional Engineer registration with the ERB.
2. Assistant Land Surveyor
- To support the creation of reports, maps, and sketches of the task completed.
- To help with the accuracy review of survey data, including measurements and computations made at survey sites.
- To document survey findings, such as the dimensions, location, elevation, and shape of a piece of land.
- To aid in establishing the requirements for the camera gear to be utilized in aerial photography; and
- Carry out any additional responsibilities that the supervisor may assign you.
- Must be a citizen of Tanzania, possess a diploma in land surveying or its equivalent from an accredited institution, and have worked in a relevant sector for at least five years.
