Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA)

The Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) was founded by Law No. 5 of 2019 on Water and Sanitation Services, among other things. It assumed the duties previously held by OR-TAMISEMI, Regional Secretariats (RSs), and Local Government Authorities. RUWASA One of the responsibilities that has been shifted is making sure that small towns, rural settlements, and District Headquarters have access to water services.

On behalf of the Community-Based Water Supply Organizations (CBWSOs), the Manager of the Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) for the Kondoa District in the Dodoma Region would like to notify all competent and capable Tanzanians of the availability of twenty-four (24) job vacancies as follows:

Open Positions and Description

1. Main Supervisor of the Community Water Supply Organization – 8 Positions

  • Will serve as the Community-Based Water Supply Organization’s primary executor and supervisor of day-to-day operations (CBWSO).
  • Will serve as the Water Committee (Board) Secretary for the Organization.
  • Will carry out their duties under the Community-Based Water Supply Organization’s (CBWSO) supervision.
  • Will oversee the delivery of high-quality water services to clients or residents.
  • Will supervise more operational team members.
  • Will compile and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual operational reports and updates to the organization’s water committee.
  • Will create the organization’s budget, including its income and expenses, and supervise its execution.
  • Will encourage the payment for water services.
  • Will settle disputes and act as a mediator between clients and the Water Supply Organization.
  • Will follow public procurement processes when making purchases for the Organization’s needs.

2. Assistant Technician for the Community Water Supply Organization – 8 Positions

  • Will answer to the organization’s chief supervisor.
  • When there are issues, fix the infrastructure of the scheme.
  • Eliminate water loss by finding and sealing leaks.
  • Assume meters are placed and connect people to the water supply.
  • Make sure that unapproved water connections are managed.
  • Keep an up-to-date maintenance logbook and resource register.

3. Accountant for the Community Water Supply Organization – 8 Positions

  • Will be in charge of the Community Water Supply Organization’s financial affairs.
  • Oversee the water bill collecting process.
  • Create the CBWSO’s yearly budget.
  • Compile all financial reports and send them to the CBWSO’s Main Supervisor.
  • After receiving approval from the District’s RUWASA Manager and the CBWSO Supervisor, make payments.
  • Save any documentation attesting to income, payments, and expenses incurred in connection with the operations, including financial books, payment vouchers, and procurement records.
  • Before using, deposit all money received for water bills into the bank.
  • Discuss financial issues pertaining to the completion of all activities with the organization’s main supervisor.

GENERAL CONSITIONS

  • The position will be hired on a three-year contract. The Community-Based Water Supply Organization (CBWSO), the employer, has the option to extend the contract if the worker continues to perform well.
  • The employee’s salary will be determined by the organization’s water sales and collections.
  • The candidate must be prepared to work at any Kondoa District CBWSO assignment.

Important Note:

  • Copies of all educational and training records and a Curriculum Vitae (CV) with the names of three references must be sent with each application.
  • The deadline for applications is June 3, 2024, at 9:30 PM, and runs for fourteen (14) days, starting on May 21, 2024. Applications received beyond this time frame won’t be accepted.
  • Each applicant’s application letter must contain their phone number and email address. Those who are chosen for an interview will receive responses by phone and email.
  • One recent color passport-size photo must be sent with the application letters for employment.
  • Handwritten letters should be used for job applications.
