The North Mara gold mine (Barrick Gold Corporation) is located in Tarime district of the Mara region in northwest Tanzania. It’s around 20 kilometers south of the Kenyan border and 100 kilometers east of Lake Victoria.

In 2002, Barrick North Mara began producing items for sale. The mine operates both open pit and underground, with two deposits: Nyabirama (open pit) and Gokona (underground). The process unit can process approximately 8,000 tonnes of ore per day.

Open Positions and Description:

1. Underground Fitter

Responsibilities

  • Make sure that safe work practices are followed, including obligatory safety meetings and training, the use of PPE when needed, incident and accident reporting, and strict adherence to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to occupational health, safety, and the environment.
  • Submit an incident report for any problems pertaining to health, safety, and the environment (HSE).

Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with conducting technical training courses.
