College of African Wildlife Management Mweka (CAWM)
The College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka (CAWM) is a leading institution in Professional and Technical training in Wildlife and Tourism Management conducting applied research and offering community services in the form of consultancies in Wildlife and Tourism Management.
The College was established in 1963 by the Act of Parliament Number 8 of 1964 and is registered by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) and recognized as a centre of excellence by the East African Community (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC). The College is located on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, 14kms north of Moshi Municipality.
Open Positions and Description:
1. Lecture Wildlife Management – 1 POST (RE-ADVERTISEMENT)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instructing candidates for master’s degrees up to NTA level 8 and candidates for doctorates up to NTA level 9;
- Oversees and mentors students as they develop their research and practical projects;
- Creates training exercises and educational materials for students;
QUALIFICATION
- Possessing a PhD in animal ecology, applied ecology, stable isotopes in ecology, or any other relevant field from an accredited university.
SALARY SCALE: PHTS 3.1
2. Assistant Lecturer (Geographical Information Sciences) – 1 POST (RE-ADVERTISED)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teaches up to the Bachelor’s Degree (NTA level 8);
- Gathers information for instructive exercises;
- Carries out case studies, lectures, and research;
- Oversees the project of students;
QUALIFICATION
- Holder of an MSc in geographic information sciences or geomatics from an accredited university with a minimum GPA of 4.0 and a bachelor’s degree in wildlife management with a GPA of 3.8.
SALARY SCALE: PHTS 2.1
3. Assistant Lecturer (Wildlife Health) – 1 POST
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing community service and consulting work under supervision;
- Monitoring a student’s project;
- Creating a teaching guide; and
- Carrying out any additional tasks that your supervisor assigns you.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A B average for the Master’s degree in Veterinary Sciences or Biomedical Engineering/Sciences, and a B average for the Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Sciences.

4. Assistant Lecturer (Botany) – 1 POST
QUALIFICATION
- Holder of a 4.0 GPA for master’s degree in botany and a 3.8 GPA for bachelor’s degree in botany.
5. Assistant Lecturer (Financial Management) – 1 POST
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Possessing an MSc in accounting or finance from an accredited university with a minimum GPA of 4.0 and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with a GPA of 3.8.
