Manager of the Rural Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) in Kyela District on behalf of the water service providers at the village level of MTM, KAPAPA, NGAMANGA, AND NDOMAMA hereby announces job vacancies for Supervisors and Accountants of MTM, KAPAPA, NGAMANGA, AND NDOMAMA.

Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Agency (RUWASA)

Law No. 5 of 2019 on Water and Sanitation Services, among other things, established the Rural Water and Sanitation Agency RUWASA which took over the responsibilities that were previously assigned to OR-TAMISEMI, Regional Secretariats (RSs ) and Local Government Authorities. The transferred responsibilities include ensuring water services are available to communities living in rural areas, small towns and District Headquarters.

There are 4 positions for Supervisors and 4 positions for Accountants. Applicants must have the following qualifications:

Open Positions and Description:

1. Supervisor – 4 POSTS

Qualifications:

  • Must be a literate, mentally sound Tanzanian.
  • A certificate in standard technical training, NTA 3 or higher, is required.
  • Age requirement: 18 years or older.
  • Must be truthful, reliable, and free from criminal convictions.
  • Must be able to work without a lot of oversight.
  • Need to be capable of managing other workers.
  • The ability to plan, start, and grow water services is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Will serve as the secretary of the Unit’s Water Committee and operate under it.
  • Will serve as the unit’s chief executive officer and supervisor of other staff members.
  • Will offer suggestions and cost and revenue projections for the Unit’s Water Committee to consider.
  • will complete the assignments given by the Water Committee of the Unit.
  • Will supervise the delivery of water services to water customers that meet quality criteria.
  • Weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual project operation reports will be prepared and presented to the district manager of the Rural Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) Kyela as well as at meetings of the Unit’s Water Committee.

2. Accountant – 4 POSTS

Applicant Qualifications

  • Must have a certificate in accounting NTA 3 and above.

Responsibilities

  • Shall report to the Unit Supervisor.
  • Will serve as the Unit’s chief financial officer.
  • Shall be compensated for water, member contributions, and money from other sources.
  • Will compile reports on income and expenses for each quarter.
  • When necessary, will interpret unit financial data and papers.
  • Will keep track of accounting records, payment records, and any other paperwork attesting to purchases, earnings, payments, or outlays of money.
  • Will pay after receiving the unit supervisor’s approval.
  • Will keep a record of every person who uses water service.

GENERAL TERMS AND ALLOWANCES/SALARY

Payments shall be made in accordance with water sales or collections from the relevant Unit. The ability to work in remote areas and the readiness to be assigned to any Unit are requirements for applicants.
