Open Positions and Description:

1. Community Health Workers – 8900 POSTS

Through this program, the government has established a system to recruit qualified health workers, train them, and deploy them to implement Integrated Health, Nutrition, and Community Welfare interventions. The program requires two (2) workers, one male and one female, for each sub-ward/street.

The Ministry of Health, in partnership with the President’s Office – TAMISEMI, officially announces to the citizenry that this initiative, in its first phase, will begin in 10 regions, with two (2) districts per region, as stated in the table below:

Furthermore, the implementation of this program will continue in phases in all regions and districts of mainland Tanzania. Citizens who meet the qualifications within the 10 regions indicated in the table above are encouraged to apply for positions as Community Health Workers in all streets/sub-wards within their respective districts. All applications should be submitted to the District Executive Directors, who will oversee the selection of qualified workers among the applicants in accordance with the provided guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Must have formal identification, such as a National ID (NIDA), passport, driver’s license, or voter ID.
  • Must have finished secondary education (at least Form Four) and have a Leaving Certificate.
  • Must be a resident currently residing in the particular Sub-Ward, Village, and Street.
  • Must be acquainted with the language, culture, customs, and traditions of the relevant group.
  • It must be ethically and culturally acceptable to the relevant community.
  • Must have no history of criminal activity, including gender-based violence and violence against children.
  • Must be conscientious, industrious, and enthusiastic about helping the community.
  • Must be trustworthy and capable of maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Must be prepared and competent to work in the particular Sub-Ward or Street.
  • Must be between 18 and 55 years old.

Applications should be submitted to the Ward Executive Officer’s Office accompanied by:

  • Handwritten and signed job application letter.
  • Copy of Form Four Leaving Certificate.
  • Two (2) passport-sized pictures.
  • Personal information (CV), including age, complete address, and mobile phone number, as well as the addresses/mobile phone numbers of at least two (2) referees.
  • Confirmation letter from the Village/Street Executive Officer of the applicant’s residence.

The deadline to submit these applications is two (2) weeks from the date of this notice. Further instructions are available from the local Ward Executive Officer’s offices.

Application Process:

Deadline for application is 16th April, 2024;

On the day of the interview, only those who have been shortlisted will be notified.

The presentation of falsified documents and other data will need legal action;
