FHI 360 serves more than 60 countries. Currently, we are seeking suitably qualified candidates to fill in Temporary position for Technical Officer Biomedical Services – Morogoro for its EpiC project in Tanzania.

The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a 5-year global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control.

Open Positions and Description:

1. Technical Officer, Biomedical Services – 1 POST

Responsibilities

  • Organize, oversee, and manage the delivery of HIV testing and services (HTS), HIVST, PreP, recency testing, family planning services, connections to care and treatment support, and referrals to GBV, TB, STI, and other biomedical services at mobile sites, index homes, and partner notification modalities. You should also assist the MOHSW in specific healthcare facilities.
  • Provide clinical management and integration of HIV, Prep, FP, TB screening, and STIs training to staff and community health workers.
  • Make sure that all clinical practices at hospitals and mobile outreach programs adhere to national standards and guidelines created by the MOHSW.
  • Coach, mentor, and supervise physicians in mobile outreach, index testing, partner notification modes, and healthcare institutions on an ongoing basis.
  • To guarantee the provision of high-quality healthcare, offer technical support and take part in supportive monitoring of clinical staff; aid the MOHSW in doing the same in specific locations.
  • Offer technical assistance for research and activity documentation, as well as for the creation and drafting of concepts and proposals.
  • Educate community counselors in HIV, HIVST, PreP FP, community and adherence counseling, patient advocacy (especially for GVB), case management, and partner tracking through standards- and competency-based training.
  • Assist in the creation of yearly proposals and progress reports in accordance with donor requirements. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports pertaining to curative and preventive clinical actions.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in public health or nursing; an MBA with three to five years of relevant experience; a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or clinical officer with five to seven years of relevant experience; an MD with one to three years of relevant experience in the provision of community-based biomedical and KVP-focused clinical services.
  • strong clinical background in family planning, care and treatment, HIV/AIDS testing, and counseling.
  • Outstanding English and Kiswahili writing, presenting, communicating, and organizing abilities
  • Experience in clinical training and mentoring that can be demonstrated the capacity to communicate with top MOHSW officials at the local, regional, and national levels as well as with NGOs’ and CBOs’ representatives.
