Open Positions and Description:

1. Project Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve excellent project execution and reporting, monitor goals, and promptly communicate with the project manager, DME, and WVT Head Office.
  • Work creatively and cooperatively with allies, partners, local government units, and other like-minded stakeholders to impact policy and have a multiplier effect.
  • To guarantee proper progress toward goals, keep up-to-date knowledge of all field operations, program strategies, resources, and actual responsibilities.
  • Assist in enhancing food security, resilience, and job prospects for the designated recipients.
  • Determine which households in the designated project area within District Council are at risk and provide assistance to them.
  • Collaborate with project partners and beneficiaries to promote peace and stability in order to foster social harmony between host communities and refugees.
  • Improve the protection of project recipients and gender equality.
  • Lead each and every daily project

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • Must have at least two years of experience carrying out projects related to rural or agricultural development.
  • An additional benefit is project management experience with INGOs, UEs, and UN agencies.
  • Need to have worked in and interacted with rural areas in the past.
  • Possess experience with and a general understanding of inclusive and holistic programming, including but not limited to financial management, clean energy, advocacy, GESI responsive and transformative designs, and related mainstreaming methods and activities, particularly in the livelihood sector.
  • Expertise in working with young people.
  • Must be a well-behaved Christian.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Capacity to write reports: Report writing skills.
  • Strong community facilitation abilities
  • A fundamental knowledge of local and/or national advocacy topics and tactics.
  • Outstanding Swahili and English communication and presentation abilities
  • A track record of successfully facilitating project documentation and results distribution to a variety of audiences.
  • The capacity to do tasks by a deadline.
  • Strong dedication to the mission, vision, and values of WV.
