In 2016, NRC registered as an I-NGO with Tanzania’s NGO Board. Since then, the NRC has been offering assistance to the refugees residing in the Kigoma region’s camps. As the primary implementing partner for UNHCR in those areas, NRC works in tripartite partnership with the Government of Tanzania to provide WASH, shelter, and infrastructure development to the refugees and host communities.

In addition, NRC offers Education, Information, Counseling, and Legal Assistance (ICLA) services; these services are primarily focused on helping the government produce birth certificates and other legal documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Make sure that NRC handbooks, instruments, rules, and recommendations are followed.
  • Execute the action plan’s designated logistics support function portfolio.
  • As directed by management, supervise the preparation and distribution of warehouse status reports.
  • Make sure all paperwork is filed correctly.
  • Encourage and exchange suggestions for enhancing the logistical support role.
  • Manage the portfolio of logistics support functions in accordance with the action plan.
  • Oversee a group of employees who are committed to their work.
  • Deadstock should be routinely identified, and management should be advised on the best ways to minimize deadstock.
  • Verify adherence to donor guidelines and policies.
  • Make ensuring that the PPRA and other regulations are followed.

Competencies

  • Prior expertise operating in challenging and unstable environments
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, procurement, logistics, or a similar discipline.
  • A minimum of four years of experience that is applicable to the responsibilities stated in the job description
  • Results that are recorded in relation to the duties of the position
  • English and Swahili language proficiency is required.
