The Project Driver is responsible for ensuring that EGPAF staff, official visitors, and consultants are driven safely to meetings, workshops, and other work-related destinations. They also make sure that the EGPAF vehicle they are in charge of is kept in optimal working condition. The Project Driver reports to the Associate Finance and Administration Officer for overall guidance and supervision. As needed and as periodically recommended by the supervisor, the driver supports the operations department administratively and logistically.

Responsibilities:

  • transports EGPAF officials and employees to meetings, field trips, and other locations as needed for official business.
  • Maintains records of all deliveries and distributions; gathers and delivers mail, parcels, and equipment.
  • executes pick-up tasks from different locations as instructed by the manager
  • Collaborate with the relevant departments to monitor different permissions and VAT-related issues.
  • Clear different EGPAF shipments at various stages of the process.
  • Help receive, package, label, and distribute packages to various locations as periodically instructed
  • Carry out any purchase-related tasks that are occasionally assigned.
  • Verifies that the designated car complies with the Foundation Vehicle Use Policy requirements and the EGPAF basic operating criteria.
  • carries out little repairs, schedules routine upkeep, and makes sure the car is always clean and in good operating order.
  • guarantees the vehicle’s security and custody, including the tools.
  • Verifies that the designated car has all the essential supplies and documentation, such as the first aid kit, office directory, car insurance, registration, logs, and a map of the area.
  • Ensures that the procedures mandated by rules and regulations are followed in the event of an accident involving the office vehicle.

Qualification:

  • Certificate of Secondary Education
  • Driving Certificate from a Reputable Driving College
  • Certificate of Advanced Driving Course from  NIT or VETA
  • Clean Class C driving License
  • Clean Driving History and Promising Driving record
  • At Least Three years of work experience as a driver, with International Organizations preferably USAID
  • Long Distance driving Experience
  • Good Oral communication ability in both Swahili and English
  • Flexibility and ability to work with different people

In Tanzania, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) started funding HIV and AIDS initiatives in 2003 and opened a national office the following year. Since then, the President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government, the Ministry of Health Community Development, Gender, Older people and Children, and the EGPAF have worked closely together to expand the program’s reach to include high-quality, comprehensive, and integrated HIV, GBV, TB, and family planning services in the regions it supports. The U.S. Agency for International Development was recently awarded to EGPAF in partnership with consortium partners Amref Health Tanzania, Engender Health, D-tree International, and Match boxology.

Tanzania/USAID In order to close service delivery gaps in HIV, TB, and family planning (FP), Afya Yangu Northern is built on client-centered approaches. Additionally, local stakeholders’ capacity is continuously being built and transferred to ensure sustainable and national leadership. In the early project years, USAID Afya Yangu Northern will place a strong emphasis on direct service delivery throughout all regions, making sure that gaps in epidemic control are found and that specialized solutions are created to address the needs of vulnerable people.
