Overseeing and managing all operational and administrative parts of the branch is the responsibility of the Branch Manager at a Freight Forwarding branch office. Strong leadership qualities, in-depth understanding of freight forwarding procedures, and team management expertise are prerequisites for this role. In order to ensure client happiness, grow the business, and keep the branch operating efficiently, the Branch Manager is essential.

Key Performance Areas

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Recruit, train, coach, and monitor performance for a team of about six employees while demonstrating good leadership and direction.
  • Encourage a cooperative and upbeat work atmosphere that fosters professional growth, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Assign tasks with effectiveness to ensure that resources are distributed and workloads are balanced.

Operations Management:

  • Assistance with establishing the branch’s systems, procedures, and resources.
  • All operational activities in the branch, such as import/export procedures, customs clearance, paperwork, logistics, and transportation, should be overseen and coordinated.
  • Make sure that all applicable laws, industry norms, and corporate policies and procedures are followed.
  • Track and evaluate operational performance indicators, making adjustments to boost output and efficiency.

Sales:

  • Create and put into action plans to meet branch-specific sales goals and advance the organization as a whole.
  • Find new business prospects, cultivate connections with partners and clients, and increase the clientele.
  • Work together with the sales team to create marketing and promotional strategies that will boost revenue and market share.

Customer Service:

  • Keep a laser-like focus on client satisfaction, making sure that services are provided in a timely, correct, and customer-requested manner.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to consumer questions, concerns, and complaints. Resolve problems to uphold good client relations.
  • Have frequent encounters with customers to learn about their changing demands and offer suitable solutions.

Financial Management:

  • Create and oversee the branch’s yearly budget, keeping a careful eye on spending and income to make sure that all financial goals are reached.
  • Examine and evaluate financial reports, finding areas for development and, if practical, putting cost-cutting measures into action.
  • Work together with the finance division to guarantee prompt and accurate invoicing, billing, and financial reconciliation.

Other

  • In charge of managing and leading a motivated team, encouraging teamwork, and making sure team members are trained and assessed in relation to goals and objectives that are realistic, time-bound, demanding yet achievable, clear, quantifiable, and aligned.
  • Work as a representative of DP World at all times by understanding and abiding by the company’s code of conduct and ethics policies, encouraging and exhibiting positive behaviors consistent with the company’s principles, values, and culture, and making sure the highest standard of safety is adhered to in all activities.
  • Carry out additional relevant tasks as given.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a similar discipline. A benefit is having relevant professional certificates.
  • A strong background in import/export procedures, customs laws, and transportation logistics is essential, as is a track record of success and recent experience (7+ years) in the freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field.
