Applications are being accepted by RTI International for the position of Chief of Party for the Tanzania Malaria Vector Control Activity (MVCA), which is funded by USAID. With regard to this Activity, USAID | Tanzania will assist the Tanzanian government with its vector control initiatives, particularly with regard to the dissemination of durable insecticidal nets, social behavior modification outreach, entomological surveillance, and operational research. Along with enhancing current ties between district and community platforms and the business sector, the activity will aim to guarantee that the population at risk of malaria receives appropriate vector control interventions.

As well as guaranteeing prompt activity implementation and reporting, the Chief of Party will serve as the MVCA’s senior representative when interacting with USAID, the Tanzanian government, and other domestic stakeholders. The job will be located in Tanzania’s Dar es Salaam.

Responsibilities:

  • Gives the Activity a clear direction, strategic technical leadership, and managerial guidance.
  • Have final say over all MVCA management and operations, including timely technical and financial reporting, thorough performance monitoring, efficient subcontractor management, strict financial management and cost control, and cooperative and fruitful client relationships.
  • Acts as the MVCA’s liaison and RTI’s representative with USAID, the Tanzanian government, the Ministry of Health, and the Prime Minister’s
  • Multilateral and bilateral organizations, NGOs, FBOs, CBOs, and community stakeholders are among the offices that make up the President’s Office Public Service Management, the Ministry of Finance, the National Malaria Control Program, and local government agencies.
  • Makes certain that the outcomes of MVCA activities are proactively distributed and that they are fulfilling the expectations of clients and stakeholders.
  • Accountable for making sure USAID is notified on schedule and for reporting to them.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social science, public health, or a similar discipline.
  • Minimum of ten years of senior-level expertise overseeing and managing intricate health projects in Africa; previous experience leading or deputy leading USAID programs is preferred.
  • Proven track record of offering technical advice and direction in the areas of surveillance, monitoring, and assessment, as well as institutional building strategies, with a focus on controlling malaria vectors.
  • Outstanding understanding of national issues affecting malaria vector control and surveillance, as well as a track record of successfully bolstering local government institutions.
  • Proven capacity to establish and preserve productive working relationships with donors, important stakeholders, and host government agencies.
  • Capacity to promote teamwork, accomplish programmatic objectives, and reach milestones with a track record of high-quality outcomes.
