Planning Commission (PC)

Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) on behalf of The Planning Commission (PC) is inviting qualified Tanzanians who are dynamic, results-driven, inventive, experienced, and suitable to fill eleven open positions. These positions include Director of Innovation, Research and Development, Director of Trade and Private Sector Engagement, Director of National Key Results Areas, Director of Performance, Monitoring and Evaluation, Manager of Innovation, Manager of Systems and Capacity Building, Manager of National Economic Key Results Areas, Manager of National Social Key Results Areas, Manager of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, Manager of Government Communication Unit, Manager of Risk Management and Quality Assurance.

In order to ensure continued national economic growth and development, the Planning Commission was founded under the Planning Commission Act No. 1 of 2023 and is in charge of the planning process, the management of the economy, and the execution of authorized national development plans. As a Think Tank, the Commission, which reports to the President’s Office, will function as a network of experts and specialists with respectable backgrounds in planning, research, innovation, performance monitoring, and assessment.

Open Positions and Description:

1. Director of Innovation, Research and Development

  • It is incumbent upon us to formulate plans for the advancement of inventive science and technology within the nation.
  • Qualification: Master’s degree in one of the following: business administration with a finance major from an accredited university; project planning and management; economics and statistics; planning and investment; or project planning and management. A master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree must be related.

2. Director of Trade and Private Sector Engagement

  • To assess the state of international commerce and offer advice on the creation of strategies and policies to advance external trade.

3. Director of National Key Results areas

  • To make NKRA identification easier.

4. Director of National Planning

  • To create the long- and medium-term development plans, as well as the national development vision, and to supervise their execution.

5. Manager of Research and Innovation

  • To conduct experiments and research and serve as a foundation for deliberations about the Commission’s future course;

6. Manager of System and Capacity Building

  • To keep up the NPMIS, the National Projects Management Information System;

7. Manager of National Economic Key Results Areas

  • To create policies and processes for putting NSKRAs into practice

8. Manager of International Trade and Economic Cooperation

  • To keep an eye on, appraise, and analyze global economic trends and changes and determine how they may affect the home economy;

9. Manager of Government Communication Unit

  • To research problems arising from the execution of medium- and long-term objectives and create communication strategies;

10. Manager of Risk Management and Quality Assurance

  • To develop and review the Risk Management for the Commission

11. Manager of Innovation

Responsibilities:

  1. To propose strategies for the growth of innovative science and technology in the country.
  2. To encourage the use of innovative planning and execution strategies for development.
  3. To make it easier to apply innovations and technology for social-economic development

Qualification:

  • Possess a master’s degree from an accredited institution in one of the following disciplines: business administration with a finance concentration; economics, statistics, economics and statistics; project planning and management; economics planning; planning and investment; or finance. A master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree must be related.
