Danish Refugee Council (DRC)

Established in 1956, the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a non-governmental, non-profit humanitarian organization that offers direct support to populations impacted by conflict, including refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), and host communities, in more than 40 countries globally.

The Head of Programs will receive assistance from the Grants Management Manager (GM Manager) in creating and managing the portfolio of several grants for the country program in all of the DRC operating regions. By supervising and/or managing proposal creation procedures and guaranteeing timely and accurate donor reporting, the GM Manager will help secure further funding.

Responsibilities:

  • Offers professional consulting services with a major influence on the organization as a whole in the specialist fields of donor compliance and grants administration;
  • The General Manager will contribute to corporate goals by working across many sectors, disciplines, and geographic areas within the business;
  • Serve as the hub for the DRC Dynamics system’s grants administration module and provide training to the appropriate personnel;
  • Attends global or regional grants management reference groups to contribute to the creation of new guidelines and creative solutions;
  • Assist in the revision of Tanzania’s national strategy and its appendices, as well as in the planning, execution, and major writing of the annual review;
  • Assistance in revising the advocacy plan;

Qualifications:

  • Five years of relevant work experience, ideally gained in field locations with INGOs
  • Prior experience collaborating with donors from the US, EU, and UN on reports, proposals, and subgrants
  • Proven capacity to manage several projects at once and complete challenging tasks.
  • The capacity to examine budgets to make sure they adhere to donor budget requirements.
  • Strong writing abilities in both French and English are necessary, not optional.
  • Knowledge of LFA and Program Cycle Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
