Collaborate closely with departments in Head Office and branches to ensure that all control issues are addressed with leadership and guidance. Coordinate remediation efforts and make sure that newly opened accounts comply with KYC regulations. Protect the bank from fraud, income leakage, and misappropriation by implementing strong and efficient controls and managing the Retail loan portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- By proactively identifying, reviewing, and monitoring risk and governance issues, you can ensure that the branch network functions with a sound information risk, governance, and control environment.
- Maintain the integrity of the company’s business continuity management and reconciliation strategies, techniques, and guiding principles.
- Make that the procedures set out are followed and that the end-to-end management of the Risk Control Assessment (RCA) framework for retail banking is up to date and applicable.
- Make sure snap checks are connected to RCA and performed efficiently.
- Participate in anti-fraud and disciplinary sessions.
- Encourage and guide the team to provide outstanding work and service levels to every branch by making sure employees comprehend the significance of their job profiles in connection to the department and NMB’s strategy.
- Give the branch Quality Assurance Team the authority to serve as a think tank, offering advice to the management team on matters related to loan procedures, paperwork, controls improvement, and cost-saving measures in retail banking.
- responsible for the efficient planning, administration, reporting, and coordinating of projects and initiatives to produce change in accordance with availability and business needs.
- Make sure that all employees who perform poorly are managed through performance improvement plans (PIPs) in order to oversee the application of the bad performance policy.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in an area linked to business.
- A master’s degree will be beneficial in addition.
- Certifications in risk management will be beneficial in addition.
- Ten years or more of experience, at least five of which must have been spent in top positions at respectable financial institutions, in a governance and control capacity, ideally in the banking and finance industry.
- Expertise creating and advancing high-achieving teams.
