To expand our workforce, Dangote Cement is looking for an experienced instrumentation technician. You will be handling regular upkeep, repairs, installations, calibrations, adjustments, and integration of different kinds of plant instrumentation equipment in this capacity.

Responsibilities:

  • As instructed, carry out all work order maintenance, plant equipment troubleshooting, and calibration.
  • Diagnose, check, test, maintain, fix, clean, and calibrate solid-state and microprocessor-based control equipment as well as instrumentation.
  • When necessary, fix or swap out control devices such transmitters, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, and switches.
  • Install measuring and control devices on both new and old plant machinery.
  • Diagnose, fix, and perform minor programming on a range of frequency drives, PLC control systems, and other electrical devices.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and take part in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Carry out any additional tasks that the section head or engineers assign you.

Requirements:

  • Trade Test II plus sixteen years of relevant work experience
  • Trade Test I plus eight years of comparable work experience
  • OND plus five years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong familiarity with meggers, multimeters, phase testers, and other testing tools.
  • The capacity to read and comprehend drawings and paperwork.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizing abilities.
  • Strong networking, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Competence with office productivity software.
