Benjamin Mkapa Hospital (BMH)
After its launch on October 13, 2015, the Benjamin Mkapa Hospital was formed by Government Notice No. 453 of 2015, which was published in the government gazette on October 16, 2015. The construction of this hospital aims to reduce the expenses incurred by the Tanzanian government as a result of patient referrals from overseas. The fourth president of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, planned to establish a cutting-edge diagnostic center in Tanzania by 2015.
With 400 beds, the hospital can care for both domestic and international patients. The hospital currently provides emergency medicine, an intensive care unit (ICU), imaging (MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, angiography, mammography, X-ray, ultrasound), laboratory services, surgical services, and radiotherapy.
Open Positions and Description
1. Nurse II – 6 Positions
Responsibility:
- providing patients with basic nursing care and giving them medications and other treatments as directed by doctors;
2.Physiotherapist II – 2 Positions
- Utilizing physiotherapy techniques to assess and treat patients.
3. Occupational Therapist II
- Preserving and updating patient data and statistics.
4. Clinical Optometrist II
- Conducting visual analysis.
5. Audiologist II
- Treating patients with auditory pathologies with audiometric therapy.
6. Radiology Scientist II
- Conducting different x-ray exams.
7. Nutrition Officer II
- Reviewing the patient feeding surveys of all patients with specific medical needs who visit the BMH clinic, giving them the information they require to make an informed feeding decision, and offering technical support.
8. Medical Specialist (General Surgeon)
- Doing ward rounds and emergency medical duties.
9. Launder
- Making sure the workspace, tools, and supplies are tidy.
