Americares Community Partnerships for Respectful Care (CPRC) is a five-year project (2020–2025) funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) with the goal of reducing mother and child mortality and morbidity through improved community-based health care.

The data clerk will be in charge of carrying out the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tasks. The CPRC MEL Specialist, community-based implementing partners, and government counterparts at the regional and district council levels will collaborate with her/him to guarantee seamless data collection and entry into project-based databases (Commcare) and national reporting systems (DHIS2).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the MEL specialist with the USAID Uzazi Staha project’s implementation, coordination, and planning of activities. You can also help to fortify the MEL system.
  • Keep track of and evaluate your progress toward the objectives and outcomes of your activities.
  • Lead and plan a monthly data review meeting at the level of health facilities. Present the project team with the MEL results and suggestions for enhancing the project’s execution.
  • Create digital data collection tools as needed, and teach project personnel, the health facility staff, subgrantee staff, and community health professionals how to use them.
  • Undertake important project indicator data collection, validation, and quality assessment in conjunction with R/CHMTs.
  • Analyze data and provide the project lead with recommendations for changes that should be made, particularly to the project’s goals and KPIs.
  • Create, produce, and update data dashboards, reports, and visualizations every month to share complex data insights with stakeholders at the district/region and health facility levels.
  • Gather and aggregate monthly data on FP referrals from various service delivery locations, including but not limited to labor and delivery, CTC, prenatal, and postnatal.
  • Maintain the project database and use the online reporting platforms for standard indicators, such as USAID Development Information Solutions (DIS), for reporting.
  • Offer technical assistance to the project personnel and R/CHMTs staff about MEL-related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • It is necessary to have a bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, social science, health monitoring and evaluation, statistics, or a related field.
  • It is extremely ideal to have experience working in community development, family planning, nutrition, and RMNCAH programs, particularly those in Tanzania.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience overseeing and assessing international health sector development initiatives; candidates with a history of developing and enhancing data collection and reporting systems for the public health sector are strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale USAID operations, including familiarity with the agency’s reporting guidelines.
  • It will be helpful to be familiar with the national health management information system.
  • Familiarity with digital data gathering methods such as Commcare, data management, and DHIS2, as well as advanced data analysis techniques like STATA or R.
  • Proficiency in collaborating with and answering to various stakeholders in multi-layered contexts is highly advantageous.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities; capacity to form alliances across industries and cultural boundaries.
  • Capacity to train, guide, and advance technical staff members’ abilities.
  • Outstanding command of the English language in both writing and speech, as well as a track record of fulfilling reporting obligations to donors such as USAID.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint in Office 365.
