Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE)

Under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) is a public institution. The TIE job is to analyze education policies from the government and adapt curriculum plans and teaching resources to support the delivery of high-quality education at the pre-primary, primary, secondary, and teacher education levels.

Act No. 13 of 1963 first created the Institute as the Institute of Education (IE), a component of the former University College of Dar es Salaam. Its main goal was to promote teaching and learning in schools and teacher education institutions by coordinating the University College of Dar es Salaam’s teacher training program with the former Ministry of Education.

Responsibilities:

  1. To support the creation, testing, and design of educational products;
  2. To help with professional development and seminars for teachers and tutors.
  3. Giving the department head advice on matters pertaining to the area of expertise.
  4. To Authorizes and Approves Dummy for Large-Scale Manufacturing;
  5. To support research, curriculum monitoring, and assessment, as well as any other educational activity;
  6. To help and take part in the delivery of educational consulting services;
  7. To help with the writing of publications and scholarly articles; and
  8. To carry out any additional tasks that the immediate supervisor assigns.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.5 in any subject of study with a focus on fine art, or the equivalent credentials from an accredited institution.
