The Finance Director will be in charge of all financial and operational aspects of the project, including managing financial systems, creating program budgets, producing financial reports, keeping track of spending, working with the sub-awards administration to manage finance and operational issues, working with the procurement and vendor management teams, keeping an eye on the project’s inventory and supply chain, and providing support to regional office finance staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and directs the project’s administrative and financial processes.
  • As needed, assist with project start-up, close-out, and the opening of additional offices.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of project-specific SOPs, administrative protocols, and financial management strategies that adhere to donor and institution operating systems and rules.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and counsel on project-related financial and operational matters as a member of the senior management team. Improve financial and operational assistance by collaborating closely with the Chief of Party and other senior project personnel.
  • Under the direction of the manager of grants, contracts, and strategic partnerships. Examines and offers comments on award documents, modifications, and other legally binding documents that other parties have provided for the project.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, finance, or accounting.
  • Nine years or more of program management experience with USG funding.
  • Outstanding accounting and financial abilities
  • Accustomed to using the accounting program QuickBooks
  • Computer proficiency (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • The capacity to handle multiple important tasks at once with effectiveness.
  • Aptitude for using Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills (local language preferred; English necessary)
  • Capability to operate both individually and collaboratively in an unstructured setting.
  • Maintain secrecy when handling employee compensation.
  • Experience working for international organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), ideally with USG funding.
  • The ability to travel inside the country as needed.
