Open University of Tanzania (OUT)
Created by Act of Parliament No. 17 of 1992, the Open University of Tanzania (OUT) is a public university. In accordance with Universities Act No. 7 of 2005, the University has been functioning under the OUT Charter Inc. of 2007 from January 1st, 2007. Its purpose is to “provide relevant, high-quality, flexible, accessible, and reasonably priced open-access online education, research, and services to the community for Tanzania’s and the world’s social and economic development.” The 30 regional centers spread across the Tanzanian mainland, including the Coordination Centers in Unguja and Pemba in Zanzibar, as well as the Open University of Tanzania’s temporary headquarters in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, are how the university is run.
The Open University of Tanzania is now accepting applications from capable and appropriately qualified individuals in order to increase its human resource capacity and better support its purpose.
Open Positions and Description
1. Tutorial Assistant (Philosophy of Education)
- Possessing a Bachelor of Philosophy degree combined with Education and a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5.
2. Tutorial Assistant (History)
- Holder of a bachelor’s degree in history education. with a minimum grade point average of 3.8.
3. Tutorial Assistant (Cultural Studies)
- Holder of a bachelor’s degree in either cultural anthropology, tourism, and cultural heritage, tourism and cultural heritage, history, and cultural heritage management, or tourism and cultural heritage. with a minimum grade point average of 3.8.
4. Tutorial Assistant (Monitoring and Evaluation)
- Possessing a Bachelor of Science in Economics degree and having a GPA of at least 3.8 out of 5.
5. Tutorial Assistant (Social Work)
- Possessing a social work bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5.
6. Tutorial Assistant (Law) – 2 POSTS
- Possessing a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) degree and having a GPA of at least 3.8 out of 5.
7. Tutorial Assistant (Finance)
- Possessing a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 in accounting and finance or finance, accounting, and management.
8. Tutorial Assistant (Human Resource Management)
- Bearer of a human resource management bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA requirement of 3.8 out of 5.
9. Tutorial Assistant (Instrumental Chemistry)
- Possessing a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a minimum GPA of 3.8 on a 5-point scale.
10. Tutorial Assistant (Food Science and Technology)
- A minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 is required for the award of a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology.
11. Tutorial Assistant (Agricultural Science)
- Possess a Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 in one of the following fields: Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Crop Production and Management, Crop Science and Technology, Agricultural Science, or Agricultural Extension.
12. Tutorial Assistant (Early Childhood Education)
- Possessing a bachelor’s degree in early childhood development or education with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5.
13. Tutorial Assistant (Special Education) – 2 POSTS
- Possessing a bachelor’s degree in education with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5 in special education, support needs education, or special and inclusive education.
