Responsibilities:

  • Create the necessary grower base in the designated growing area to satisfy the volume and quality requirements of JTI contracts. JTI’s minimal agronomic standards should be followed by all contractors, with an emphasis on crop rotations, available acreage, farmer woodlots, barn infrastructure, and other crucial components. Every contracted producer must adhere to the JTI Minimum Agricultural and Forestry Standards (MAS/MFS) and be observed while doing so.
  • At least once every four weeks, or once each crop cycle, whichever comes first, visit each contractual grower. The extension services provided by the agronomy technician will track crop production from contracting to marketing. In addition to other services as needed from time to time, these services will include training, monitoring, progress reporting, geotagging, barn program monitoring, afforestation monitoring, and NTRM monitoring.
  • Start and oversee the establishment of the PS, Grower, and JTI woodlots for the duration of their lives.
  • Take part in timely and precise data gathering for forestry and barn programs, as well as for each crop phase. Provide precise volume, bale, stored bales, and other management in line with the actual measured volumes and validated and quantified grower tobacco bales while issuing farmer bale tickets.Make sure that all bale tag reconciliations—received, issued, and returned—are completed by the end of the season.
  • Understanding the risks to health and safety and taking precautions to prevent them, as well as actively participating in health and safety training programs, understanding the legal and JTI EHS requirements related to their work, abiding by all rules, acting in a safe manner, and actively reporting ideas for improvement and unsafe conditions are all part of EHS. Assets and security of the company: In order to ensure the safe usage and general security of all allotted assets (such as computers, safety equipment, mobile phones, GPS units, and motorcycles), maintain and monitor the company’s allocated assets in accordance with manufacturer specifications or best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Academic Degree or Postgraduate Certificate in Agriculture or Associated Fields
  • One year or less of experience in the tobocco industry is advantageous.
  • A current driver’s license for motorcycles.
