China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering (CPP)

Total Exploration and Development Uganda Limited (TEPU), CNOOC Uganda Limited (CUL), and the Ugandan government are seeking to design and build an oil pipeline to connect the Kingfisher area’s production to the Buliisa-Nwoya area, where CPP crude oil is exported to the international market, following the discovery of crude oil in the Lake Albert region.

Above-ground installations (AGIs), pipelines, and offshore storage terminals (MSTs) make up the three parts of the EACOP system. Along the pipeline’s path are two pressure-reducing stations (PRS-1 and PRS-2) and six pumping stations (PS-1 to PS-6) that make up the above-ground installation (AGI).

Responsibilities:

  • Make sure to thoroughly draft any contracts and agreements that the company participates in.
  • Talk about the terms of the contracts with the company’s internal and external partners.
  • Review and update existing agreements.
  • Inform interested parties and managers of the terms and conditions.
  • Ensure that employees understand and follow company policies.
  • Analyze any potential risks related to certain contract clauses.
  • Stay up to date on legal developments and get in touch with the legal department when needed.
  • Ensure that all contract deadlines and specifications, including payment and delivery, are met.
  • Defending the company in legal proceedings.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated prior experience as a contract assistant, lawyer, or legal secretary
  • Familiarity with pertinent legislation, court procedures, and Tanzanian laws
  • Sufficient knowledge of building contracts and contract management
  • Competent in both written and spoken English. Speaking Mandarin Chinese is beneficial.
  • A minimal familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of programs, which includes Office, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to visualize issues for others to understand.
  • Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
  • Individuals with previous project risk management expertise will be given preference; candidates should be knowledgeable about the methods and procedures utilized in project risk management.
