Position Overview
Position: Senior Supervisor – UG Mining

Department: Underground Mining
Reporting to: Superintendent 2 – UG Production
Number of Positions: One (01)
Monitoring shift workers’ daily and weekly operations and equipment use at the underground mining site in order to meet safety, training, and production needs; Supporting and guiding the shift supervisors as needed to guarantee that every employee has the necessary training and skills to carry out their jobs safely and effectively; to carry out any further instructions from the Senior Manager Underground Mining; and to comply with all applicable Tanzanian mining laws.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the mine’s adherence to the duty of care owed to all workers, subcontractors, and guests, as well as making sure that each person understands and takes responsibility for both his own and others’ safety.
- Observe the GGM Procedure’s incident management protocol.
- Full safety leading indicators and verification of critical controls for major hazards in accordance with predetermined targets.
- In charge of carrying out all operations in a safe and appropriate manner and making sure that the regulations and standards outlined in each of GGM’s underground standard working procedures are followed.
- Resolve any concerns as soon as they come up, making sure that any accidents or incidents are reported, investigated, and followed up on.

- Regulations for site entry, which can include health surveillance for mines.
- Experience: Five years or more of experience working in a related field, such as transverse mining or sublevel halting.
