Responsibilities:
- The Anglo Gold Ashanti operations in Geita, Tanzania include Nyankanga and Geita Hill underground mining operations. The purchasing, warehousing, and logistical activities are planned, organized, directed, and controlled.
- Assessing the effectiveness of the purchasing and warehousing operations and searching for supply chain areas that might require constant improvement.
- Maintaining a high degree of efficiency and productivity through ongoing development and support for the supply chain team.
- Create, carry out, and manage operating plans for procurement.
- Make sure that products and services are procured at the best cost, according to the necessary requirements, and in a timely way.
- Oversee the Pronto inventory management system, which includes carrying out yearly and periodic stock takes.
- Make certain that the expediting feature is used and updated frequently.
Qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in logistics, procurement, and supply chain management.
- Currently registered as a PSPTB member.
- Possess shown expertise in the mining industry working with both local and foreign suppliers in the supply chain role.
- Capacity to oversee and manage personnel while maintaining a hands-on, collaborative mindset.
- The capacity to operate independently and under pressure.
- Working knowledge of every aspect of the supply chain.
- Strong Swahili and English communication abilities, as well as proven ability to negotiate with both foreign and local suppliers.
- Capacity to diagnose problems that occur in the supply chain and suggest fixes.
- Knowing the essential lead periods for air, marine, and domestic freight in transport operations.
