We are now hiring for a Fleet Lead position, which would be based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and have a one-year contract with an option to extend. The logistics fleet manager will oversee operations in Uganda in addition to Tanzania, where they are based. The job holder is involved in the fleet management of light vehicles for project-related logistical tasks, ensuring the effective and secure transportation of personnel. It encompasses accountability for:

Responsibilities:

  • Using assistance from the two logistic officers stationed in Kampala and Dar es Salaam.
  • Over 200 light cars, 150 in Tanzania and 50 in Uganda, are managed, together with the drivers assigned to various sites to ensure resource utilization while adhering to company regulations.
  • Daily oversight and arranging of personnel transportation to and from field locations, Dar Es Salaam, and Kampala
  • Make sure that every vehicle that is moved to a site is inspected promptly and without fail.
  • Take part in creating the budget for logistics (BU) related to the tasks under your purview.
  • Engage in the Call for Tender process by contributing to the definition of contractual strategies, scope of works, and technical bid evaluation.

Qualifications:

  • Additional National Diploma and appropriate work experience.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken Swahili and English.
  • Capable of using all Microsoft Office apps on a computer.
  • 5 years of experience (with at least 3 years spent on the job) in a role involving logistical supervision in the building, mining, or oil and gas industries.
  • Experience working in a foreign environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong familiarity with logistics-related operations.
  • Good familiarity with automobiles and traffic laws.
  • Strong familiarity with fleet administration, including oversight of drivers.
