The job, which reports to the Chief Risk Officer, is in charge of creating and seeing to it that the yearly Compliance Risk Management Plan, which addresses Financial Crime Compliance Risks, Regulatory Risk Monitoring, and Transaction Monitoring, is implemented. In charge of supervising and assisting the bank’s Compliance Risk Infrastructure, which keeps an eye out for violations of sanctions, AML, and suspicious activity. Planning, observing, analyzing, and interpreting different laws inside ACB Bank PIc as well as carrying out recurring internal audits or reviews to make sure the Bank complies with legal requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance monitoring, taking appropriate action when internal rules, processes, and guidelines are not being followed by the bank, and ensuring that bank employees are properly trained by conducting thorough and frequent compliance risk assessments and testing.
  • To help manage financial crime compliance and reputational risks, develop pertinent compliance rules, procedures, and processes.
  • Encourage the Bank to adopt a culture that places a strong emphasis on adherence to high ethical standards, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
  • For the purpose of regulatory compliance and risk mitigation, create a compliance risk matrix for all laws, bylaws, circulars, and guidelines that the bank is subject to.
  • Make sure that all units, goods, and services have completed their Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and that the compliance requirements have been appropriately mapped against the corresponding Risk Registers.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited university, ideally in a related field such as risk management, economics, law, or finance.
  • Certifications for ACAMS
  • Eight years or more of experience in the banking sector or in a regulatory capacity, with at least five years spent in the areas of regulatory compliance, OFAC/economic sanctions, and AML/CFT.
  • Substantial expertise from a front-line position in commercial banking in compliance, risk, and operations management combined with business management.
  • Proficiency in handling regulatory affairs and assured communication with Management, the Board, and Regulators.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with important regulatory trends and standards, including as data governance, GDPR, ESG, and FATCA.
  • Strong grasp of the regulatory environment and corporate governance
  • Strong problem-solving, modeling, and analytical abilities.
