The company has been in operation for eight years and is currently searching for a committed HSE Officer to help it reach its expansion objectives. The TPL company is based in Mafinga, Tanzania, and the project is for a full-time role on site.
We are looking for an attentive and proactive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to guarantee compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements at our manufacturing company. The function include creating and executing HSE rules, conducting risk assessments, and training personnel to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. females are urged to apply.
1. HSE Officer
Responsibilities:
- To create, implement, and manage health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures that comply with regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to detect potential dangers and ensure that safety standards are met.
- Perform risk assessments and devise solutions to reduce workplace dangers.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and devise corrective measures to avoid recurrence.
- Provide HSE training to employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure they are aware of safety procedures and processes.
- Maintain records of all HSE inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Collaborate with management and staff to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Monitor environmental performance and take steps to reduce environmental effect.
- Stay up to date on current HSE legislation and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety training (such as IFAT or NOSCH) is useful.
- At least two years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the manufacturing industry.
- Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Analytical thinking, with the capacity to detect and evaluate hazards.
- Detail-oriented and committed to achieving regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work both alone and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, Microsoft Office programs, statistical applications, and collaboration tools like SharePoint.
