A Fintech operating in Dar es salaam, Tanzania SasaPay is looking for a passionate self-driven Business Development and client service officer.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, maintaining and enhancing relationship with existing clients and ensuring exceptional service delivery. They will be expected to drive growth and expand the business. The person should have a good experience in sales, client relationship management, and a passion for driving business growth.

Open Position and Description

1. Business Development and Client Service Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation and Sales: Generate leads through various channels (networking, cold calling, email campaigns, etc.), Conduct meetings Negotiate and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction and serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly
  • Customer Support: Provide excellent customer service by resolving client issues and inquiries through offering solutions and guidance to clients. 
  • Sales strategy: Analyze potential opportunities and develop business plans to ensure that all the business development opportunities are optimized.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management.
  • Experience in the banking or mobile money industry will be added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, strategies, and best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, client feedback, and sales data to inform strategies.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

2. Backend Developer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure backend systems’ using modern technologies.  
  • Design and implement database schemas that represent and support business processes.
  • Design and Implement APIs to support frontend functionality and third-party integrations.  
  • Write clean, maintainable, efficient and reusable code and perform codes review.  
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Implement security best practices and data protection protocols.
  • Identify, Debug and troubleshoot technical issues across the stack

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.  
  • Proven experience as a Backend Developer minimum 2 years or similar role.
  • Proficiency in server-side languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, PHP, or Node.js.
  • Strong experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

3. Risk and Compliance Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the identification, communication, measurement, and management of company-wide risk.
  • Design, implement and monitor appropriate policies, procedures, controls and monitoring to ensure enterprise-wide payments compliance with applicable internal and legal standards (e.g. KYC/KYB, AML, OFAC, Account Verification).
  • Conduct periodic risk assessments to identify key risks, and to ensure program effectiveness and risk mitigation through continuous iteration and improvements to payments compliance policies, procedures and infrastructure.
  • Making recommendations to subdue risk factors.
  • Working with internal teams to calculate the risk associated with specific transactions, ensure appropriate steps are taken to identify and remediate violations of payments compliance policies and procedures.
  • Conducting research and analysis to assess the severity of the risk using financial, statistical tools and software to evaluate risk, presenting the results and findings of the analysis and making appropriate recommendations for improvement.
  • Developing models and contingency plans to deal with potential threats.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in finance, risk and compliance related role.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of risk in commodities.
  • Good communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to understand of the trending changes in regulatory and compliance.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
