The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), which was established in 1956, is a humanitarian non-governmental non-profit organization that offers direct help to populations impacted by violence in more than 40 countries worldwide, including refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), and host communities. Since the beginning of the Burundi refugee crisis in 2015, DRC has been carrying out emergency response initiatives in Tanzania in three camps for refugees in the Kigoma Region near the Burundian border. Sectors include Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), Protection (CBP, PSN, GBV, CP, and Legal), Shelter and Infrastructure, and Economic Recovery are included in DRC’s integrated projects for refugees, asylum seekers, and host communities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • P2P for both domestic and foreign procurement should be conducted strictly according to the division of labor.
  • Make that the Country program is using ERP supply chain processes correctly.
  • Responsible for overseeing direct reports’ personnel. This covers staff development, goal-setting, probation, performance reviews, managing performance—including subpar performance—and other related activities.
  • To guarantee that uniform and agreed-upon systems are applied, plan and conduct frequent logistics training sessions with the appropriate participants (human resources, finance, program, and logistics).

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or logistics.
  • Having professional credentials in procurement is an added benefit.
  • Humanitarian logistics certifications are an extra benefit.
  • A master’s degree is an extra benefit.
  • A minimum of five years’ expertise in the fields of supply chain, fleet, inventory, and asset management in the fields of humanitarian logistics and procurement management.
  • Familiarity with donor procurement requirements from organizations such as UN Agencies, DANIDA, FCDO, USAID, and ECHO
  • Familiarity with and at managing contracts and service providers
  • Outstanding proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel on a computer, along with previous ERP system experience
  • High standards of transparency and honesty in the procurement process.
  • Self-motivation and the capacity to see projects through to completion.
