Assuming accountability for all operational tax issues pertaining to the Tanzania Business Unit’s enterprises is the primary goal of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Calculating and recording the company’s tax obligations and offering guidance on tax provisioning
- Preparing a year-end income tax return, a year-end tax budget, and quarterly tax liabilities predictions (if relevant) in collaboration with outside advisors as needed. additionally
- Communicating on these matters with the Revenue Authorities and outside auditors
- Ensuring accurate computation and payment of interim taxes
- Ensuring that all business tax compliance requirements are satisfied in a timely and effective manner, that all tax liabilities are calculated, and that tax payments are made in a
- Compliance with applicable laws and deadlines
- Examining the excise and value-added tax returns each month before the shared service manager or finance director signs them and submits them to the revenue service.
Qualifications:
- A degree in tax, commerce, or accounting
- Five years of tax expertise, with a focus on tax accounting and reporting, and pertinent practical tax experience in Tanzania and Africa, covering both direct and indirect taxes as well as international taxation.
