AKU, the first private university in Pakistan, was established in 1983. It is a non-profit organization that is a part of the Aga Khan Development Network. The AKU began sending delegations to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Afghanistan, and the UK in 2000.
At Aga Khan University, the Manager of Purchasing and Supply Chain will uphold and execute internal controls for purchasing and supply chain management, boost output and efficiency, cut costs, and guarantee high-quality products and services. They will collaborate and work closely with the staff and faculty.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and oversee the processes involved in acquiring, receiving, storing, and warehousing supplies as well as submitting invoices to the finance department.
- Negotiating terms and costs with freight providers and suppliers, keeping an eye on and evaluating their performance, and upholding cost-effective procedures.
- Contract Administration.
- Create and oversee divisional operational and capital budgets; short-, medium-, and long-term plans. – Optimize the capital budget.
- Examine the data from the supply chain and use alternate plans to address any problems.
- Per the Approval Matrix, purchase order approval
- Make sure the cheapest fares are chosen, and sign finance-related trip request forms and monthly travel reports.
- Find suitable accommodation, draft a lease, arrange for VAT exemptions with TRA (via Finance), make sure the lease is renewed on time, and work with landlords to resolve any concerns tenants may have.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or logistics and procurement. Having a master’s degree in a relevant discipline will be beneficial.
- It is necessary to have professional CIPS and PSPTB memberships.
- Five years minimum of experience in a relevant or comparable capacity
- Strong analytical and commercial sense combined with extensive ERP knowledge
- Experience with operations and logistics in a hectic setting, or with supply chains.
