In reaction to the Rwandan crisis and the ensuing wave of refugees into Tanzania’s northwest Kagera Region, CARE started operations in Tanzania in April 1994. In the years that followed, CARE Tanzania created cutting-edge programs in the areas of education, health, microfinance, and the environment in the majority of the nation.

1. Internship Opportunities (2024)

CARE Tanzania is looking to hire interns for its program quality, who will be in charge of supporting daily operations and be a vital part of the program quality support team.

Based in Dar es Salaam and Tanga, the Program Quality Interns will answer directly to the MEAL Officer.

OBJECTIVE OF THE INTERNSHIP:

  • Assist with the evaluation and creation of PQ tools and systems, as well as the preparation of employees and partners to use and record them.
  • Quick evaluation of all active projects to track partner involvement and create strategies for better teamwork.
  • Assist with building a database and partner mapping process for CARE Tanzania, which includes Women’s Rights Organizations and Women-Led Organizations.
  • Assist initiatives aimed at creating feedback and accountability systems.
  • Community input being recorded and the FAM database being created.
  • Best practices, lessons learned, difficulties faced, and success stories on the four program quality domains should be documented.
  • Policy briefs and learning materials in the areas of program quality should be documented and distributed to all relevant parties.
  • Recording of lessons learned from successful project sites visited for educational purposes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Recent university graduate with a minimum degree in project planning and management or a similar discipline.
  • Proficiency in Gender, Communication, Rural Community Monitoring and Evaluation
  • It will be advantageous to have experience in development, data gathering, analysis, reporting, monitoring, and documentation, or a related sector.
  • Capacity to operate both individually and collaboratively in a team with little oversight.
  • The capacity to function under duress.
  • The capacity to multitask.
  • Proficiency in interpersonal skills.
  • Abilities in managing time.
