REPORTS TO: Award and Sub-award Manager

Responsibilities:
- Make sure that the conditions of the donor, as outlined in contracts, agreements, and CARE worldwide regulations, are met.
- Ensuring that partners and CARE staff are fully aware of and adhere to best practices when it comes to grant management.
- Ensuring that CARE workers and partner staff are aware of the consequences for the management of grants and subgrants and that donor-specific requirements for the project are thoroughly understood.
- Ensuring adherence to optimal procedures (such as conducting partner monitoring visits and information reporting) and implementing proactive remedial measures where necessary, informing the relevant responsible management of any challenges encountered.
- Keeping abreast of modifications and advancements in pertinent CARE International regulations and procedures regarding grants
Qualifications:
- A “MUST” is having a bachelor’s degree in accounting or financial management and a complete professional qualification, such as an ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICSA, etc.
- An MBA with a focus on finance or accounting, or a master’s degree in a related field like accounting or finance, is advantageous.
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Proficiency with accounting software and familiarity with PeopleSoft software are highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in written and spoken Kiswahili and English
- Familiarity with the rules, compliances, and reporting requirements of major donors
- Strong budgeting and financial analytical abilities.
