Cotton Development Trust Fund (CDTF)

The Cotton Development Trust Fund (CDTF) was incorporated in Tanzania on 4th March 2008 under Trustees Incorporation Act (CAP.318 R.E. 2002) as per certificate of incorporation No. 3352. The Fund is a replacement of the Cotton Development Fund CDF, which was established under the auspices of the Cotton Industry Act No. 2 of 2001.

Cotton Development Trust Fund CDTF is looking for the qualified, young and dynamic Tanzanians to fill in the following vacant position under contractual basis.

1. Procurement Officer

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Procurement and Supplies Management, Logistics Management, or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution is required. Additionally, the candidate must be registered with PSPTB as a Graduate Procurement and Supplies Officer and have had relevant work experience.

Duties

  • To handle the procurement or supply control of specific stock lines:
  • To support the forwarding and clearing processes:
  • To maintain documentation and reporting on all executed procurement tasks
  • To assist in carrying out the Tender Board’s duties:
  • To help handle procurement tenders in accordance with the regulations and procedures of the authorized authority;
  • To keep an approved supplier list for goods provided locally and update it as needed:
  • To keep track of all contracts and oversee the delivery of ordered products;
  • To take part in estimating and planning the needs for supplies;
  • To compile reports on a quarterly basis; and
  • To carry out any additional relevant tasks that his or her supervisor may prescribe.

Qualitative Requirement:

  • The applicant needs to be proficient in speaking with others.
  • Fluent in both Kiswahili and English
  • Computer literacy is required.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

  1. A current passport-size photo and a Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a working email address, phone number, and postal address are required attachments for applicants.
  2. Applicants must attach their detailed relevant certified copies of Academic Certificates as follows:
    • Degrees and professional certificates
    • Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates
    • Birth Certificate or National Identity Card
    • Form IV and Form VI result slips are strictly not accepted. Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the CV will necessitate to legal action.
    • Applicants should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts in their CV.
  3. The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) or the National Accreditation Council for Technical Education (NACTE) shall verify foreign university credentials if they don’t have a degree.
  4. Only eligible applicants will be contacted to proceed with the process.
