Procurement and logistics assistants are needed by Chemonics for the USAID Lishe (Nutrition) project. The five-year project is to improve food and health market systems that encourage a variety of stakeholders in the targeted regions of Tanzania to adopt habits related to optimal nutrition. We are looking for people who are passionate about improving people’s lives all across the world.
With the help of the office manager stationed in Dar es Salaam, the procurement and logistics assistants are in charge of effectively supporting the USAID Lishe (Nutrition) Project by ensuring the integrity and correct implementation of project procurement procedures throughout the areas. They will collaborate closely with members of the technical team and the regional administrative assistants to organize and complete travel plans. They are also in charge of the logistical arrangements for the regional team members.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that the project inventory tracker is updated frequently to reflect an accurate accounting of all project objects, values, and locations, and that all project property is added to it as soon as it is acquired.
- Helping the office manager in Dar es Salaam by obtaining quotes and researching the market in order to complete project procurements while following all relevant Chemonics and USAID policies.
- Helping the office manager in Dar es Salaam create purchase orders, BPAs, and RFQs/RFPs.
- Keeping track of service agreement performance durations and other relevant operations agreements.
- Making hotel arrangements for workers from Dar es Salaam who are visiting the region and for workers from the region who are traveling overnight from their homes.
- Examining hotel bills for the lodging facilities that the project has a contract with.
Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related subject.
- Three years of minimum experience required, or two years required while working on a project sponsored by USAID.
- It is highly preferred if you have prior experience organizing office travel logistics.
- Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams) and the capacity to enter data effectively and in a way that makes sense for management into a variety of software programs.
- Strongly preferred are proficiency with subcontract procedures, familiarity with USAID procurement standards, and strong administrative abilities.
- The capacity to operate honorably both individually and in a group.
- Exemplifies honesty, leadership, adaptability, and a great sense of organization and task prioritizing.
