This position presents a special chance to enhance and broaden CRDB’s ESG capabilities while offering visibility throughout the Bank Group, its subsidiaries, various organizational divisions, activities, and products, as well as external partners, in promoting Climate Action.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the strategic initiatives of CRDB Bank aimed at responsibility and sustainability across the board.
- Creating and overseeing the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and sustainability strategies for the bank.
- Advancing the strategic dissemination of the bank’s global sustainability and ESG compliance, encouraging policy adoption and awareness. You will play a key part in helping us accomplish our corporate and social responsibility goals.
- Lead our efforts strategically as we create an ESG strategy, encourage the adoption and application of policies, control risks, enhance reporting and transparency, and expand outreach and knowledge of sustainability.
- Strive to develop and support strategic alliances that will advance climate finance and the sustainability agenda.
- Develop the bank’s sustainability and ESG compliance policies and processes.
Qualifications:
- A degree from a relevant, accredited university or institution in one or more of the following fields: environment, finance, climate change, banking, economics, data analytics, statistics, agribusiness, accounting, or business-related disciplines.
- Being in possession of the following credentials will be beneficial: Certifications in project management, sustainability-related fields, CPA, ACCA, environmental, climate change, or EHS management, etc.
- Thorough understanding of the environmental and social management system and the implementation of the IFC Performance Standards (PS 1–8).
- The capacity to evaluate climate finance’s potential and risks, plan ahead, decide on the best course of action, and achieve the intended results.
- Writing reports and communication abilities
- The capacity to set priorities, fulfill deadlines, and remain composed under duress.
- Capabilities to learn and think creatively, as well as the ability to solve problems
