Serving the underprivileged and vulnerable, the USDA Food for Progress (FFPr) initiative will be managed by you, as Chief of Party II, with vision, leadership, and overall management provided. Your technical expertise, managerial skills, and strategic leadership will guarantee the provision of top-notch programming and strengthen CRS’s standing as a preeminent organization in Tanzania. You will proactively manage security and reduce security risks in your capacity as a senior leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all facets of the FFPr project’s creation, execution, and consolidation, and communicate how the initiative advances the industry’s level of thought leadership. operate as the main point of contact for all stakeholders—public, corporate, and non-governmental—including the USDA.
  • Make that the project is planned and executed to satisfy donor requirements for timely and high-quality outcomes, financial constraints, and phase-out and sustainability methods. Make that the leads of the programs and operations are in sync. Make ensuring that, in accordance with MEAL policy and procedures, the CRS program quality criteria are met.
  • Handle senior programming and operations talent with effectiveness. Control employee relations and team dynamics. Give mentorship and coaching. Make thoughtful adjustments to each person’s development plan, and finish direct report performance reviews.
  • Monitoring local and national concerns that could have an influence on employees and programming will help you manage and reduce risk. Make sure that all employees are aware of the CRS staff safety and security policies and plans, follow them, and see to it that these are updated.
  • Encourage, maintain, and set an example for a dedication to the economical use of donor and agency resources. Make ensuring that partner budgets, finances, administration, and reporting to USDA are all in conformity with USDA grant requirements. Accept requests from contributors for cost modifications, budget adjustments, and program expenses.
  • Represent CRS programming abroad by showcasing their creative output. Disseminate program outcomes and give talks. Supervise the creation of communication plans and collateral while adhering to the branding and marketing guidelines and policies of donors and CRS.
  • Oversee partnerships with consortium partner organizations, including scheduling and organizing review sessions. Assist in implementing the roles and responsibilities of personnel from other consortium member organizations in accordance with the partnership principles of CRS.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a master’s degree in business administration, animal husbandry and health, livestock management, agricultural economics, or another related technical field. Preferably a PhD.
  • Requires at least ten years of expertise overseeing the implementation of market development and value chain initiatives.
  • Requires a minimum of five years of proven expertise managing large teams remotely, as well as experience administering USG and/or USDA programs that are implemented by numerous sub-awardees.
  • Five years of experience managing people and skills that support a learning environment. Have senior program staff coaching and mentoring experience.
