CultivAid, a technical enterprise, uses Israeli agricultural practices and technologies to boost crop yields, raise farmer incomes, promote economic development, strengthen diplomatic partnerships, and solve climate change challenges. CultivAid seeks to have an impact on the entire agricultural industry.
The initiative Manager will oversee the “Unlocking the Grape Value Chain” initiative, which aims to improve grape agriculture and the wine industry in Dodoma, Tanzania. This position is responsible for overseeing efforts across four major components: farmer extension, value chain strengthening, capacity building and training, and research and development. The coordinator will oversee the effective completion of the project’s objectives, develop collaborations, and create long-term growth in the grape value chain.

Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Ensure that the action plan is implemented, and that resources are properly managed and reported.
- Attend annual planning meetings to develop plans, financial projections, and operational strategies.
- Staff administration and directing the performance of the program agronomist
- Create and implement thorough project plans for each component.
- Monitor project progress, manage schedules, and stick to deadlines.
- Demonstration plot operation, training and data collection:
- Plan the implementation of each plot and manage the action plan.
- Examining and addressing the technical aspects of appropriate grape cultivation.
- Data collection and analysis for farmers
- Implementation of training programs on each plot
- Staff training.
- Strengthening Winery Partnerships:
- Develop and maintain relationships with value chain actors.
- Promote contracts between vineyards and farmers to ensure market stability.
- Organize and lead workshops for small vineyard owners.
- Encourage and participate in the Dodoma Wine Festival.
- Research & Development:
- Oversee the formation of a regional nursery for enhanced grape varietals.
- Ensure the creation of high-quality vine seedlings.
- Develop and manage collaborative research programs.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline.
- 2-3 years of experience in the agricultural field
- Previous experience as a project manager is advantageous.
- Ability to prioritize, work independently, and take the initiative.
Language Skills:
- Fluent English speaking and writing
- Fluent Hebrew speaking and writing.
