DIGNITY Kwanza Tanzania
A non-governmental organization called DIGNITY Kwanza was established in Tanzania with the goal of defending and advancing the human dignity of those who have been displaced, those who may become stateless, and women, children, and young people who are at risk of being marginalized in order to achieve their social and economic development.
DIGNITY Kwanza helps to create the conditions and opportunities for its population of concern to enjoy rights, live with dignity, achieve social and economic growth, and take part in the search for long-lasting solutions to their needs and the overall nation-building through its integrated approach, which combines advocacy, legal aid, community empowerment, and support.
Responsibilities:
- To plan legal education and community sensitization events for DREAMS project participants, covering a range of legal topics pertinent to their effective involvement in the project.
- To use various channels to give DREAMS participants pertinent legal information
- To host capacity-building workshops for village, ward, district, and regional officials as well as other interested parties.
- To carry out a requirements analysis and due diligence on behalf of the project beneficiaries
- To offer legal services, such as consultations, document drafting, form filing, accompanying, and representation in court and other pertinent governmental and non-governmental institutions, to the project beneficiaries.
- Plan and carry out outreach initiatives and legal assistance clinics.
- Work with government agencies and other service providers to resolve legal issues that DREAMS members are facing.
Qualifications:
- A law degree from an academic institution is required, as is registration as a practicing advocate with the legal association and membership in the Tanganyika Law Society.
- A minimum of two years of experience working for an NGO providing legal services
- The capacity to fulfill deadlines and work in demanding circumstances.
- Adaptable, autonomous, and a team player.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and planning abilities; able to operate both alone and in a team.
- Integrity, a solid work ethic, and the capacity to reliably fulfill deadlines under duress.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and a dedication to understanding and following organizational rules and guidelines.
- Outstanding command of both spoken and written Swahili and English.
