Established in June 2016 under the Companies Act, Act No. 12 of 2002, the Electrical Transmission and Distribution Construction and Maintenance Company Limited (ETDCO Limited) is a subsidiary of The Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO). It commenced operations in January 2017.
The ETDCO mandate is to build and maintain electricity infrastructure both domestically and internationally. As a Class One Contractor, the Company is registered with the Contactors Registration Board (CRB).
Responsibilities:
- Putting into practice the quality assurance and project planning processes of ETDCO in addition to the daily operations of the company;
- Putting together the thorough project design, planning, cost estimates, and methodology needed to carry out projects successfully;
- Maintaining and updating ETDCO’s design, planning, surveying, and quality control;
- Conducting operational research and inspections to identify areas that need to be changed or improved, as well as to create solutions and corrective measures, before launching the project;
- Reviewing technical design documentation, codes, specifications, methods, and requirements in order to deliver insightful comments in a timely manner;
- Recording all procedures and examinations and ensuring the security and confidentiality of secret information;
- Keeping track of and ensuring that each project’s budgetary needs and timelines are satisfied;
- Keeping up with emerging technologies for monitoring and testing;
Qualifications:
- Holder of an engineering technician registration and an FTC or diploma in electrical engineering, or an equivalent qualification;
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in substation, distribution, or transmission of electricity;
- Proven work experience in software development and quality assurance software, proficiency with MS Project, Auto-CAD computer skills, planning, design, and project management 22 skills, proficiency with writing clear, succinct, and thorough test plans and test cases, hands-on experience with automated testing tools, and strong analytical, critical, and logical thinking and problem-solving abilities will be an added advantage.
