For its EpiC project in Tanzania, we are currently looking for applicants who meet the qualifications to fill the position of SI Regional Technical Officer in Arusha.

Within the designated region or regions, the Regional SI Officer is in charge of carrying out monitoring and evaluation (M&E) operations. The individual in question will collaborate with regional office staff of EpiC, community-based implementing partners, and GoT counterparts at the regional level to guarantee that M&E activities are suitable and fulfill USAID, FHI360/EpiC, and regional staff standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer direct technical support and capacity building to support the planning and execution of M&E initiatives in the communities you serve throughout the area. Collaborate with GoT counterparts, health service providers, and community-based implementing partners in the area to offer assistance and direction for project M&E activities, particularly for data collection, management, and analysis for use in course correction and decision-making.
  • Make routine site visits for monitoring, verify the quality of the data, and triangulate the data using authorized instruments.
  • Encourage the creation and application of suitable methods to guarantee quality in order to guarantee that the activities’ level of quality complies with EpiC and PEPFAR requirements.
  • To store, manage, and analyze project data, manage project databases (e.g., DHIS2, DATIM, Infolink, IPRS, CTC2 database, CTC3 Macro database, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in computer science or public health informatics with three to five years of applicable experience, OR a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or health informatics with five to seven years of relevant experience and strong programming abilities.
  • Four years or more of work experience in a comparable role, preferably with HIV and AIDS implementation
  • Proficient in database management systems (SQL Server, Access, etc.) and Microsoft Office; proficient in SQL for database development.
  • The capacity to troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
  • Capacity to use independent judgment to fix mistakes or omissions in data
  • A thorough understanding of data management guidelines and practices
  • Familiar with the technologies used in software development
  • Initiative, a creative and proactive mindset while putting fresh ideas into practice
  • The capacity to identify issues and choose the best solutions in data management.
