In order to achieve sustainable food and nutrition security (FNS), FSPN-Africa only works with women and youth at the grassroots level. This is done through our research and experience over the years, as well as through our guided approaches, which include policy advocacy, research and development, community education and sensitization, technology and innovation, and established partnerships with CBOs and other stakeholders in the FNS value chain.

Even with the present quick improvements, FSPN is still a very dynamic organization that engages with every helpful resource that serves as our main motivation for enhancing lives and achieving the objectives we have set for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Arrange and carry out farmer contact and mobilization events.
  • Enable farmer registration using an internet-based farmer database.
  • Lead the way in identifying the lead farmers and contact people.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the administration of the region, district, and village.
  • Train leaders of farmer groups and individual farmers in general and regenerative agricultural concepts and skills.
  • Determine prospective partners and local stakeholders.
  • Make sure that any work plans, budgets, reports, input requests, and any other requests that may be deemed necessary are done or requested on schedule. This includes strategic planning.
  • Determine the possibilities, obstacles, and needs to support project outcomes in the project areas, then promptly discuss them with the project manager or officer.
  • Serve as the main point of contact with the organization’s local partners or farmers.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of experience and a bachelor’s degree or diploma in environmental science, agriculture, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience with rural communities’ smallholder farmers. strong knowledge of carbon sequestration methods and the tenets of regenerative agriculture.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and written communication abilities.
  • The capacity to function both alone and together.
  • Competence in gathering, analyzing, and reporting data.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken Swahili and English.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience in working with farmer groups, community mobilization, and extension
  • A track record of providing technical training.
