As a registered non-governmental and not-for-profit organization (NGO), Family Welfare Foundation (FWF) seeks to strengthen the voices of marginalized women, adolescent girls, and young people in Tanzania by accelerating evidence-based collective action for better health care services and human rights achievements. FWF envisions sustainable development outcomes, human rights, and high-quality health care for Tanzania’s youth, teenage girls, and women.

A two-year project called “Space for Promoting Education, Advocacy and Knowledge on Unsafe Abortion Tanzania (SPEAK OUT)” is currently being funded by Amplify Change. It will run from October 2023 to April 2025. The goal of the project is to help address unsafe abortion and its terrible effects, which include teenage pregnancies, gender-based violence, and child marriage for young women and girls in Tanzania.

Responsibilities:

  • In charge of greeting and registering all visitors, suppliers, mail, and parcels before forwarding them to the relevant division.
  • As needed, assist with the planning of office cleaning, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Assist with the preparation of meetings or special events to further the objectives of the project. This may involve arranging invitations, finding vendors, and doing other duties as required.
  • Custody of petty cash.
  • Create reports for expenses and reconciliation, and maintain the petty cash balance.
  • Help with the planning of both domestic and international travel.
  • Help the procurement and logistics manager file project documents, such as vendor agreements, registration and legal papers, property management files, and employee HR records.
  • Ensure that every employee is healthy and safe, and that breakfast and lunch are prepared as needed.

Qualifications:

  • It is preferred to have an advanced or ordinary diploma in business administration, human resources, or a related discipline;
  • Two years minimum of experience in a comparable role supporting projects supported by foreign donors;
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), possessing strong interpersonal, organizational, and attention to detail abilities;
  • Demonstrated aptitude for teamwork, tact, energy, and experience in operations and administration;
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Swahili and English.
