An experienced human resources manager is needed by HJFMHRI. The Human Resources department of HJFMRI Tanzania is overseen by this role. Senior Human Resources Manager

In terms of human resources planning, hiring and selection, talent management, performance management, function assessment, rewards, well-being, training and development, compliance, health, and safety, etc., the role gives HJFMRI Tanzania strategic direction. Although working closely in a functional dotted line with Global Human Resources (GHR), the incumbent reports to the Operations Director.

A nonprofit organization devoted to improving military medicine is the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF). Through the administration, management, and support of premier scientific projects that benefit both civilians and soldiers of the armed forces, we serve clients in the military, medical, academic, and government sectors. HJF has been an essential conduit between the military medical sector and its public and business partners since its establishment in 1983.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily activities of the Human Resources department at HJFMRI Tanzania.
  • Oversee the planning, organizing, directing, and regulating of HJFMRI Tanzania’s human resources to make sure that the organization’s goals are reached as effectively and efficiently as feasible.
  • Give HJFMRI Tanzania’s human resources staff direction, instruction, coaching, and mentoring to make sure they have the necessary abilities to fulfill the organization’s expectations of them.
  • Create and carry out human resources strategies and initiatives in support of the Program’s (HJFMRI) business plan in conjunction with GHR.
  • Analyze human resources data and deliver important HR insights to the GHR and top leadership of HJFMRI Tanzania so they may make well-informed judgments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a similar discipline, such as human resources management; a master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Ten (10) years or more of relevant professional experience in human resources management, including at least seven years of experience at a progressive management level in a variety of industries.
  • Thorough understanding of federal employment regulations, human resources best practices, and Tanzanian labor laws (the Employment and Labor Relations Act).
  • Demonstrated expertise defending organizations in Tanzanian CMA proceedings.
  • A track record of successfully completing difficult human resources initiatives and projects that span organizational and functional boundaries while controlling risks, concerns, and stakeholders to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Prior large donor experience is necessary; experience with the CDC, PEPFAR, DoD, or USAID is preferred. Working in a cross-cultural environment with multinational NGOs.

The Chief Human Resources Officer must give their prior consent before any qualifications may be regarded equivalent in place of the minimums that are specified.
