Seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Supply Chain Officer, with a base in Mwanza, Tanzania, is ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader housed within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New York City.
The supply chain officer is in charge of bolstering supply chain operations to guarantee precise and timely ordering, distribution, and forecasting of HIV supplies required at institutional and community locations. In all of the region’s ICAP-supported districts and locations, s/he will be in charge of improving the logistics of HIV consumables and supply chain concerns.
To guarantee that all locations have the necessary resources to uphold the requirements of high-quality HIV care, the Supply Chain Officer will directly help the region, councils, facilities, and community sites. In order to guarantee the availability of HIV supplies and commodities for continuous services, this role also works in conjunction and communication with the regional laboratory teams, the regional pharmacist, the regional medical store department (MSD), and other significant stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Assist medical facilities in creating and enhancing the use of medication therapeutic committees in accordance with federal regulations.
- By using pharmacists and ICAP employees to build a network of facilities for backup support during stock outs, you may provide districts with technical leadership.
- Give district pharmacists the technical assistance they need to implement national guidelines for commodity management procedures and infrastructural support.
- Give CHMT technical help so that their facilities in their districts can be mentored on supply chain management concerns found during supportive monitoring.
- Assist supply chain management stakeholders in developing enhanced supply chain systems, processes, and procedures by offering technical support.
- Take the lead in creating a plan to increase the supply chain and logistical system’s capabilities for ICAP and district employees.
- Create interventions or solutions to deal with bottlenecks in the supply chain, such as enhancing accountability through peer-to-peer benchmarking and trends.
- Encourage the creation and implementation of efficient plans for the purchase, storage, distribution, and monitoring of actions aimed at increasing the supply of commodities, as well as the management of HIV/AIDS commodity changes and demand management techniques.
- Offer technical assistance for stock quantification exercises on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Ensure that performance reports are generated on time and that quantification is completed.
- To guarantee an ideal supply of commodities, stock databases should be updated and monitored.
- Communicate with the people in charge of the laboratory to advance the HSS logistic system.
Qualifications:
- Essential Courses of Study a bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited university in pharmacy or a similar discipline.
- Experience Requirement: Three years of minimum work experience in supply chain management challenges supporting healthcare facilities via donor-supported organization, ideally on a CDC project financed by PEPFAR.
- Fluency in English and excellent written and verbal communication abilities are prerequisites.
- Strong computer abilities (at least competency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel; desirable familiarity with statistical software like SAS and SPSS).
- Capacity to offer regional offices excellent technical support.
- The capacity to manage and collaborate with a varied workforce.
- Capacity for self-directed work with little direction and excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work on weekends and after regular business hours when there is a lot of travel away from the job station.
