The Service’s overarching goal is to preserve and oversee the nation’s national parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and animals while enforcing relevant laws and regulations. In addition, the Service supports other National Security Agencies in their efforts to combat insecurity and counterterrorism by managing and safeguarding significant and vital water catchment regions.

The KWS Service works in a remote environment and is looking to hire 150 young, energetic people as Cadets (Assistant Warden I) who can withstand the requirements for training and deployment to different conservation areas in response to the challenges facing the nation’s wildlife protection in a phased manner as follows:

Open Positions and Description:

1. Cadets (Assistant Warden I) – 150 POST

Requirements:

  • Possess Kenyan citizenship;
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in education, sociology, or community development, with a minimum of two classes honors in lower division from an accredited university, in one of the following fields: wildlife management, natural resources management, environmental science, range management, veterinary medicine, criminology & security management, tourism management, or education;
  • Be younger than 28 years old;
  • Possess a fit and healthy physique;
  • Possess no criminal history; and
  • Upon successful completion of a nine-month mandatory paramilitary training program, selected recruits will be deployed into combat.

Application Process:

Step 1: Download the application form from the KWS website at www.kws.go.ke or pick it up for free from the closest KWS National Park Station.

Step 2: Complete the application form as directed;

Step 3: Enclose copies of your pertinent professional and academic credentials, references, your National ID card or passport, and a thorough resume that lists your employment history, current salary, employer, and the names and contact information of at least two (2) references;

Step 4: Send the completed application and its attachments to the address below.

Deadline for application is 8th April, 2024;

On the day of the interview, only those who have been shortlisted will be notified.
